New Baby!

Dear Praying Family,

We're working on updating our pictures at www.stonesinperu.shutterfly.com. since we realized we haven't posted much in the last few months.

The Growing Family

We had a surprise last night! We thought we still had another 10 days or so until #3 would put in his appearance, but he decided to be very unperuvian and arrive early rather than late (as his siblings did).

Samuel David Stone was born at 3:52 AM today, March 27. He weighed 3.06 kg / 6.75 lbs and was 50 cm / 19.7 inches long. Angela and Samuel are both doing well. What a blessing and a joy! We’re not counting our chickens yet, but he seems quieter and sleeps longer than his older brother and sister did! Alison and Ben were very excited to come see their new baby brother at the clinic. Alison (3) can’t wait to “help” change, feed, hold, dress, and of course play with her new baby. Ben (1 ½) was very cute (and quite impressed us) by gently patting Samuel and wanted to crawl all over the bed around him. We’re looking forward to the challenges and joys God will give this family of five!

Our Bible College (Lima Baptist Theological Seminary)

We’re finishing our second week of classes and God has brought us nearly 100 students this semester. I’m teaching Creationism and 3 sections of Hebrew. Due to another missionary being on furlough, I’m also directing the ministry this semester. My plate is quite full, but we have a great group of Peruvian and American teachers and it’s a privilege to serve as needed. Please continue to pray for a campus of our own as our borrowed facilities are shrinking every year.

Living Hope Baptist Church

There are many things to be thankful for. We’ve seen God’s grace at work in many lives. Yet there are often challenges as well. While we feel this church plant could blossom very soon, there have been spiritual casualties in its short history that would make our adversary glad. Please pray for a case of church discipline that will come before the congregation tomorrow. We are asking God to raise up more strong families and godly men who will honor Him and serve in the church. This Sunday is also our annual business meeting. We would love to provide a more substantial salary for our Peruvian pastor, but an increase will require sacrificial giving from the church family.

As always we are deeply grateful for your prayers and support. Thank you for standing with us in serving the Lord in Peru!

In Him,
Jonathan, Angela, Alison, Benjamin, and Samuel Stone
